Programme & Best Paper Prize

Irish Political Studies Best Paper Prize 2017

In 2016, we moved to a new process for selecting the prize for the best paper presented at the annual PSAI conference. Panel convenors, chairs and paper givers can nominate outstanding papers, presented by scholars at the 2017 annual conference of the Political Studies Association of Ireland held in DCU. Self-nomination is encouraged.

All nominations for the award must include:

  • A note recommending why the paper should be considered for the prize;
  • A pdf copy of the paper.

The following are the criteria for the award:

  • The paper must be original, unpublished and presented by the candidate(s) at the conference;
  • The paper must be outstanding and worthy of publication in a leading political science journal.

The judging panel for the prize includes the co-editors of Irish Political Studies and a member of the editorial board. The prize will be awarded at the annual conference dinner in the following year. The prize winner(s) will be notified in advance. Please send complete nominations by November 17th, 2017 to ken.carty@ubc.ca.
